About this release
Vocal samples of a murdered rightwing supremacist as album opener – what is this, virtual insanity? Hip references to “bleeding pens” (“I Hope They Write”) and “beings that glisten among the stars and the moon” (“Nostalgia”) – right on! Jazz club nostalgia of a Dollar Brand-esque kind with West Coast rap-inspired flows to match nogal, that’s Black Vulcanite for you! The Namibian-based hip-hop trio consisting of Mark, Alain and Nikolai do the “speak-truth-to-authority” thing with outright conviction. - Rolling Stone Magazine, South Africa
